Chairman and Group Chief Executive

Brett Davies founded Club Assist in 1992 with the vision to introduce a logistical model to automotive clubs worldwide that drives down their infrastructural costs and, simultaneously, increases their revenue streams.
He has 30 years of extensive experience in the automotive industry. Known for his dedication to people management, Brett focuses the business on values – both the values of Club Assist’s client clubs, their members and the Club Assist employees. Under Brett’s directorship, Club Assist now reaches out to over
60 million automotive club members in 7 countries worldwide.

Stuart Davies

CEO and Managing Director

Stuart has been in the automotive business for over 30 years. In 1977, he managed the family’s business,
the Australian Battery Company. The company specialized in manufactured, wholesale and retail automotive batteries. The business quickly expanded across Australia until being sold in 1995. In 1991, the family business diversified into Club Assist supporting motoring clubs.  Stuart headed up many different departments during the early years and moved to North America for two years to head up the North American expansion in 2001.  Stuart was promoted to CEO of Club Assist in 2006 and was appointed to Managing Director in 2012.

   

Greg Goodman

Executive Advisor Club & Resorts RACV

Greg Goodman is Executive Advisor Club & Resorts of The Royal Automobile Club of  Victoria Limited. Greg is chairman of Shellfish Culture Pty Ltd which provides 70% of Oyster seed to the Oyster Industry within Australia. Greg is a management consultant to other industries as well. He is an independent director and the chairman of the Remuneration Committee of Club Assist Corporation Pty Ltd Australia. Prior to taking up his current career, Greg was self employed for 12 years and during the 1980’s, was employed in the banking industry specialising in the Finance and Administration. 

   

Susan Allen

Executive General Manager, Membership Services for RACV 

Susan Allen has over 15 years of private and public sector senior management experience, encompassing leadership positions in the transport infrastructure, automotive, financial and services industries.

Prior to her current role, Susan held the position of General Manager, RACV Insurance, Victoria's largest automotive insurer, for over seven years. Before joining RACV, Susan had responsibility for vehicle registration and driver licensing services and for management of road system construction and maintenance programs in her General Manager roles at VicRoads, the state’s road authority.  

Currently, Susan is the Executive General Manager Membership Services for RACV.  In addition to her corporate role as a member of RACV’s Management Committee, she leads the Membership Services Division, which brings together responsibility for RACV’s membership strategy, programs, marketing and communications, including the member magazine Royal Auto and the website.  The division is also responsible for emergency roadside assistance services and the delivery of services to members through the shop network and call centres. Susan’s qualifications are as follows:  BA(Hons); BEc; MA; MBA.

 

   

Clive Hall

Director

Clive Hall has held senior executive positions in investment and merchant banking, including Managing Director of National Australia Limited between 1985 and 1993. Clive was Chairman of the International Banks and Securities Association between 1990 and 1992, and is currently non-executive Chairman of GUD Holdings Limited and RACV Finance Limited. He is a director of Intelematics Australia Pty Ltd and Royal Automobile
Club of Victoria (RACV) Ltd, and was President and Chairman of RACV from 2004 until 2007. Clive retired
as Chairman of Victorian Energy Networks Corporation on 30 June 2009.

   

Tony Stuart  (BComm FAICD)

Group Chief Executive Officer, NRMA Motoring and Services

Tony Stuart was appointed Chief Executive Officer of NRMA Motoring and Services in September 2003. Previously, Tony was CEO of Sydney Airports Corporation Limited from its initial corporatisation in 1998 to
its $5.6 Billion privatisation in 2002. Tony’s management career includes senior executive positions held in
New Zealand with Shell New Zealand and in the United Kingdom with Shell International, British Airways Plc and Manchester Airport Plc. Tony serves on the Boards of Australian Motoring Services Pty Ltd, the Australian Automobile Association, and not for profit organisations The Heart Research Institute and the Australian Institute of Management, NSW and ACT.

   

Melanie Willis

Chief Executive Officer, NRMA Investments in charge of NRMA’s commercial businesses 

Melanie brings to Club Assist considerable expertise in the provision of strategic advice, corporate finance and risk management and has over 16 years of investment banking experience. She is also a non executive director of WHK Group Limited, Australia and New Zealand’s largest accounting and financial planning firm to high net worth and small business.  Her previous roles include Director of Investment Banking with Deutsche Bank, Senior Vice President with BT Alex Brown and Manager of Structured Finance with Westpac Corporate Finance, Principal, Capital Performance Group and CEO SmartRate Money Limited.  Previous directorships include retirement village and age care operator Aevum Limited, renewable energy producer and retailer, Hydro Tasmania and car leasing provider, Rhodium Asset Solutions.

Chief Executive Officer, RACQ Limited (The Royal Automobile Club of Queensland Limited)

Ian Gillespie was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the RACQ in November 2006.  Prior to joining RACQ,
Ian spent 30 years working in a broad range of industries in Australia and internationally at CEO and senior executive level, most recently in the defence technology sector. His career includes roles in corporate law,
HR, business management and private equity investment. Ian serves on the Boards of RACQ Insurance, the Australian Automobile Association (AAA), Australian Motoring Services (AMS), and Global Mobility Alliance.
